Dress a Day: Thursday

Today's the last day for this week's Dress a Day. I need to do it again soon. It was really fun!
Here's Thursday's Marchesa one shoulder gown! Isn't this color so beautiful? I might like the dress a little more if it did not have the slit, but it still looks amazing.

Dress a Day: Wednesday

I was thinking about how much I love dresses with long skirts. And then I realized that I own none. Boohoo. Perhaps when I get a job I could save up for one. Perhaps.
This dress is stunning!

Dress a Day: Tuesday

Today has been really busy, so I'll make this short and sweet. I'm getting kind of sad that we are two days away from ending the Dress a Day week. :(
Below is Tuesday's long dress.
The feather adds a nice touch. It is really sophisticated.

Dress a Day: Monday

Oh, I should have added in Thursday's post that I was not going to do one for Sunday. Sunday was purposely skipped. It was not an accident. Sunday is our family day since everybody comes over.

Anyway, here you go! This is a beautiful J. Crew dress.

Dress a Day: Saturday

Okay, here's another one in a row. I'm uber tired from my crazy sleepover. Maybe I should catch a nap?

Here's your picture for Saturday. Selena Gomez looks absolutely gorgeous!

Dress a Day: Friday Makeup

I missed Friday's Dress a Day post, but I do have an explanation for this. Yesterday was my birthday party, and boy was it ca-razy getting prepared for it! My amazing sisters hosted it (since my mother is still repairing), and they did a wonderful job. So, I hope you will forgive my absence on this blog yesterday.
Here is your picture! Isn't this color amazing?

Dress a Day: Thursday

So, I know I've been bad about posting, but I do have a decent enough excuse. My mother had jaw surgery about two weeks back, and thing have just kind of been uber crazy. So to make it easy, this next week I will post a dress with long skirts that I absolutely adore each day. So here goes!

Isn't this just gorgeous?!! I love how the boots go with it too.

Dreamy Dresses

I adore fantasy movies and movies in which the setting is anywhere from the 1600s to the 1800s. One thing that makes me adore them is the dresses the women wear. The designs are often ladylike, whimsical, flowy, and even romantic. Skinny jeans, leather jackets, and beach dresses are fun and fashionable, and I do like wearing them. But I still think that capes, draped dresses, velvety riding jackets, etc. are definitely beautiful and lovely. Often I imagine myself wearing such things. Sometimes I will dance around my bedroom swishing my imaginary long silky skirts or descend the stairs lifting my imaginary gown from beneath my feet. And I wonder, wouldn't it be awesome if I could live life in the old English or fantastical world for even just one day? I know that I was born in just the right decade and year, and I would never want to leave my family or my life. But just one day? If someone ever gave me that chance I would snatch it up immediately.

Buttercup from Princess Bride (love that movie!) is so gorgeous here! I would die for a dress like this. I love the flowy feel of it and the gold structure of the gems on her dress. Even the headpiece is majestic!

Here she is again! This color is perfect for her blond hair. It is so dramatic and I love how it flows in the wind when she is riding her horse in the movie. The belt is amazingly beautiful, and again the headpiece is so pretty! This dress on Alice from Alice in Wonderland is bold and very whimsical. Plus it's very dramatic! The skirt and one shoulder sleeve thingy are so creative!

Lord of the Rings has some of the best costumes ever! Liv Tyler is stunning as Arwen! I especially like this dress because of the combination of the velvety blue (matches Liv's pure blue eyes) and moonshine silver. My favorite parts of the dress are the neckline embroidery and the silvery sleeves. They are just so wonderful, I could stare and drool over them for hours! Pirates of the Caribbean is another movie with amazing outfits! This dress is just so pretty!
Keira Knightley is gorgeous and her dress just makes her look even prettier! The front seems lacy and the gathering on the sleeves is perfect. Oh man, I am dying to wear dresses like this!

A Desire for the White Cliffs

My sister asked me where I would love to go. My response? The white cliffs of dover. I long to stand upon them staring off into the watery sunset. I long to see their beauty with my own eyes. Someday, maybe someday, I will get to fulfill this dream. Hopefully sometime in my journey of life, I will get to visit the cliffs that so loudly depict the beauty of God's creation. Until then, I can only gaze in amazement at the photographs of the cliffs. Here is one picture I find especially beautiful. The white color contrasts so prettily with the blue of the sky and water.

Fantasy Names

I like to write. I like to write fantasy and romance, often both combined together. One of the best parts of writing fantasy is the names. They can be unique and nonexistent or they can be real names with a different spelling. I even love pronouncing them. Their sound is graceful and lovely, seeming to come straight from a fantasy book. Below are a few of the girl names I have archived on my computer.
These ones are real names-
Acacia
Adelina
Alena
Alissa
Evynne
Mila
Sarina
Zara

These are the ones I came up with or else spelled differently-
Adelyse
Alivya
Aurela
Chrissaralynne
Cylene
Demara
Elevyna
Ellyse
Erielle
Evelene
Hosania
Iranna
Irynia
Larilea
Nuhura
Orelyna
Q'imana
Q'uella
Unara
Victorianna
Wryanna
Xiana
Yva
Zara

Some of these I have used in my stories before. My sister and I are currently writing a story together, and my main character's name is Mila. You can read it here https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AedMWV7ex8_MZGRiMjg1endfMWh0dDNjamNy&hl=en

Dreams of Becoming an Artist

I've dreamed of becoming an artist. I labor over a drawing, and when it is finished I tuck it back into the wedding planner binder that my sister used for her wedding and is now used for my art. Every day I pull it out again, a pencil in my hand and a critical gleam in my eye. I inspect it from all angles, fixing and touching up the lines. I always wonder whether or not I should take it downstairs to show to my mother and sister. Realizing at that moment that I am craving praise, I stuff it back into the binder. Maybe someone will find the binder and start peeking through it. If they like it, they can praise me silently, and I will never know of it.

I often stare at real art and wish I was as talented and artistic as real artists, but I know I should be satisfied with what gifts I have been given. God give me the satisfaction I need.

Here is a piece of art that I adore. I love the fact that the lady's features aren't perfect, but she is still beautiful. Her eyes are gorgeous and her hair is so lovely. It seems so soft and the color is so pretty. How I would love to have hair like that!
